FAQ

What is a buyer's agent?

A buyer’s agent (sometimes referred to as a buyer’s advocate), helps home buyers and investors purchase property. Whether you’re buying a house or unit, a buyer’s agent takes you through the entire property purchasing process, from suburb selection all the way to post settlement support.

What does a buyer's agent do?

A typical buyer’s agent does the following:

  • Researches areas and suburbs to ensure they suit your needs
  • Searches and inspects properties
  • Shortlists and presents suitable properties
  • Performs property due diligence
  • Liaises with other property professionals such as mortgage brokers, pest and build inspectors, strata inspectors, and lawyers and conveyancers
  • Negotiates and/or bids at auction
  • Supports during the settlement period

We offer a range of services, depending on your needs. More information can be found here.

How much do buyer's agents cost?

It’s common for Sydney buyer’s agents to charge up to 2.2% of the purchase price of the property.

Our fixed-fee pricing model is based on your expected purchase price.  This allows us to remain as affordable as possible while providing added value to the property buying process.

What are the benefits of using a buyer's agent?

Most Australians only buy one or two properties in their lifetime.  A good buyer’s agent saves you time and money, and – most importantly – makes sure you don’t purchase the wrong property.

They help you decide the right type of property to suit your needs, provide advice on the pros and cons of different areas, and generally take you through the whole property transaction. They should also be able to get access to off-market and pre-market properties.

A good Sydney buyer’s agent is regularly buying property for clients, and has developed a strong network of local sales agents and other service providers.

Do buyer's agents need to be licensed?

Yes. In NSW, buyer’s agents need to be licensed with Fair Trading. If you’re considering using a Sydney buyer’s agent, you can check that they’re registered using this link.

Our corporate license is 10085404.
