Known for its strong Italian heritage – it’s even got its own Italian piazza. Its vibrant shopping strip along the famous Norton Street is dotted with Italian cafes and restaurants along with all the amenities for daily living. Leichhardt has easy access to the CBD via buses along Parramatta Road or three light rail stops running along the west and north of the suburb.

Bar Sport
This unassuming cafe is a Leichhardt institution. Stop in for Italian sandwiches and pastries, but if you’re a soccer fan, check the blackboard for the latest results and stay for the banter.
Pioneer Memorial Park
Near the top end of Norton Street, this park is steeped with history (including a cemetery) but it also contains a playground and lots of open space. A great spot to drink your coffee away from the hustle and bustle of the main street.
APIA Leichhardt FC
One division lower than the A-League, you’ll find the NSW National Premier League, which APIA Leichhardt compete in. From February to August, you can watch games at Lambert Park.
